The Kooks Announced as Headliner for Forest Live 2026 at Delamere Forest

Forestry England’s iconic Forest Live concert series has just revealed that indie favourites The Kooks will headline its 2026 lineup at Delamere Forest. Set to take place on Wednesday, 17th June 2026, this performance promises to be a highlight of the summer festival season.

A Return of Britpop Icons

The Kooks, who first captured hearts with their 2006 debut selling over 2 million copies, are enjoying a resurgence. Their classic indie hits like Naïve and She Moves in Her Own Way continue to inspire fans old and new. Social media has introduced their timeless Britpop sound to a vibrant Gen Z audience, proving their music transcends generations.

Frontman Luke Pritchard reflects: “You’re always trying to renovate your band and re-inspire yourself because you don’t want to fall into a pattern or formula.” Alongside guitarist Hugh Harris, The Kooks have evolved from jangly indie beginnings to explore synth-driven and Krautrock influences, consistently pushing beyond nostalgia.

New Music, Renewed Energy

Earlier this year, The Kooks released their seventh studio album, Never/Know, reaching the UK Top 5, their highest chart position since 2008. The album showcases a confident, refreshed band, combining classic songwriting influences with modern indie energy.

“I really feel like we’ve got our swagger back by letting things be and not making everything too perfect,” says Pritchard. Harris adds: “At the heart of it, we both want the same thing, and that’s very powerful.”
